Selection and Implementation of Schemes - Watershed base approach

            Soil and water conservation schemes  are implemented on watershed basis in the state. Watershed Selection is carried out  based  on one or more criteria like   degradation status of arable land and drains of the area, necessity /urgency of conservation activities, prority as per watershed atlas of state land use board, extend of agricultural area and size of holdings in the watershed, socio – economic condition of the area, ,demand for undertaking watershed activities in the area, resolution from local self government bodies, representations from farmers, inhabitants of the area.etc

After identifying watershed, the technical staff of the district conducts field study, and finalise   the site specific interventions needed and detailed project report is prepared.
